Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation treatment and is known as the gold standard treatment of Melasma (hormonal pigmentation).
Cosmelan and Dermamelan contain the same active ingredients to treat hyperpigmentation, however, dermamelan is slightly stronger than cosmelan and indicated for severe, stubborn cases of hyperpigmentation.
The treatments consist of two phases:
- Phase 1 takes place in the practice. It involves a detailed skin analysis and diagnosis. The Cosmelan or Dermamelan mask is applied to the skin after which the patient is sent home with instructions to remove the mask after 8 – 12 hours.
- Phase 2 involves homecare over the following 3 months. In some cases this depigmentation phase carries on for a longer period of time.
- Cosmelan and Dermamelan are prescribed and directly supervised by Dr. Michelle Hutton.
Treatment targets:
- Pigmentation (melasma | chloasma)
- Photodamage (sun spots)
- Textural irregularities
- Acne
