Dr Tamlyn Maree is a Wits qualified medical doctor with over a decade of experience.
After completing her MBBCh at Wits University in 2006 she completed 2 years of internship. Thereafter she went on to gain experience in a variety of medical fields including Endocrinology, Oncology, Paediatrics and Paediatric Surgery in her Community service year.
Whilst abroad, she worked as a Family Physician, practiced Gynaecology and Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine, spending 3 years in Canada (2010-2013). She ultimately found her passion in Family Medicine.
In Canada she ran her own practice within a larger clinic and was exposed to a huge variety of conditions and presentations. She was also an integral member of the Emergency room call roster and the Obstetrics unit. In 2013 Dr Maree, her husband and first baby moved back home to South Africa.
For 4 years she ran a small, home based GP | Aesthetics practice where she served the local community. She later expanded to join the Mayo Clinic where the practice shifted toward Aesthetic medicine. Also, for 7 years she has been one of the doctors at the Life Extension Institute (LEI), an established and trusted Institute for general medicals and Expert Health Promotion.
Dr Maree is highly experienced and qualified to perform facial rejuvenation and wrinkle reducing treatments such as botulinum toxin injectables and hyaluronic acid (dermal) fillers. Dr Maree finds the field of Aesthetic medicine extremely rewarding and enjoyable as it brings a different dynamic to her practice. She believes in helping people to achieve a rejuvenated, natural appearance that enhances his | her natural beauty.
Dr Maree feels privileged to be part of her patients’ and their families’ lives. She believes that working in family practice affords her the opportunity to get to know and pay special attention to her patients, not only on a medical level, but often on a personal one too.
As a mother of 3 children she understands what a challenge and blessing having children is! Her son is 8 years old and her daughters are 5 and 2 years old. She is so grateful to have the flexibility to pursue a career and be a mommy!
She joined Hutton Medical Wellness Centre in October 2020 where she continues to practice as a family physician. She offers all general practice (GP) services including Paediatric care, a Well Baby clinic, procedures, Chronic disease management, Health promotion and early detection of serious medical conditions.
She complements the Centre by offering aesthetic medical procedures including botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers.
